The Bradford Gurdjieff Society is a group of people from all over the North of England who meet regularly to follow the Gurdjieff teaching known as “The Work”. Members attend from Yorkshire, Lancashire, Derbyshire and further afield such as Durham and Nottingham, and of course all the large cities in the North, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and York. This teaching is of ancient origin and was brought to the west in a form suitable for contemporary culture by George Ivanovitch Gurdjieff. Originally founded in Bradford by John G Bennett in 1949 the Society was matured and led for over 40 years by Rina Hands.
The Group meets in Yorkshire and has its “place of work” which enables it to offer the full range of “Work” activities.
