Mr Gurdjeff followed a Warrior's way, strong powerful efforts,
especially at the point where he finally after years of a nomadic
existence, settled in France and founded his Institute at Fontainbleau.
He then began to push physically as never before, perhaps too hard,
which is why it may be that he attracted correcting forces to change the
direction of his efforts; he had a near fatal car accident, and realized that
what he was trying to achieve was perhaps too much, that he needed to record
his knowledge in a different form, and so began to write.
He followed both the Way of Blame (loquiat we believe Bennett called it, and the
way of denial). He did not shirk from attracting negative attention, on the contrary,
he sometimes actively sought it. And also by pushing himself physically, he
pursued the Way of Denial, hence the way he would "melt down" his current work form.
Send students away, and start over, the old form having served it's purpose.
