[gurdjiefffourthway] Re: Gurdjieff: Orage II

Gurdjieff intiated Orage into the work by applying friction.

He said: "I cannot change you, but I can create the conditions
in which you can change yourselves".

Famously, there is the description of Gurdjieff screaming in a
fit of rage that was witnessed and written about by Fritz Peters.

In the midst of the tirade, Gurdjieff turned to Peters and gave him
the broadest smile, indicating that he was actually in complete
control of himself, then he continued with his screaming fit at Orage.

Eventually, Orage had some degree of estrangement. When Gurdjieff
attempted to cajole him to Paris from London, Orage said to someone:

"Once I would have crossed the Atlantic at his call, but now I would not
even cross the English Channel" (paraphrase)
