Thank you for posting this interview. I am studying the teaching since 1996. I knew Dushka in person. I was introduced to her by another friend, then met her at her apartment in NYC.
I always disagreed with this famous statement that Gurdjieff "abandoned writing his original Russian text and made the current English translation the authentic original". I have a copy of the original book which was published in Toronto, and I translated 18 chapters from Russian to English. Not only the current English translation has planty of wrong words, but it has full long sentences cut off in a few places.
When I spoke to Dushka over the phone back in the beginning of 2007, we had a long conversation about the Tales of Beelzebub and its current English translation. After the conversation has drawn to a close, she actually told me: "You know, none of us know Russian. Why don't you take upon yourself this painful task of translating the book?"
What amazes me the most is the vanity with which many Americasn who claim to be interested in this teaching reject the truth. In fact, how can they know the correctness of the translation if none of them speak Russian? Gurdjieff wrote the original text in Russian, and the text was preserved in Paris until the time was right to publish it.
Also, Peter Ouspensky was not a mere "intellectual". It is impossible to write down and explain the teaching correctly unless one has PRACTICED it himself.
Again, thank you for posting this interview.

Mr. Gurdjieff said that: "He who remains at the level of being of a fool, will always attract that which belongs to a fool"
