Did you ever read the story about the Acorns?
Fritz Peters told this in his book "Life with Gurdjieff".
Nature produces vast quantities of animals, insects, birds,
leaves, trees, seeds, mice, wildebeest, ants and men.
Rainer Rilke the great poet of the last century, wrote that
the secret is passed on unknowingly from generation to generation.
Think about all the people who died in the great wars of the twentieth century.
Millions died under Stalin and Hitler.
Gurdjieff said his aim was not to "die like dog".
He meant to make this life, your life, mean something.
Even in schools many join and leave, not having fullfilled their potential.
Lord Pentland, the man sitting next to Mr. Gurdjieff in the "Onions" photo,
where Mr. Gurdjieff sits in his big coat and is cutting some food,
said:
"In the work, people come in through the front door, and leave through the back door".
They reach a point in the work, and cannot continue.
You have to make the one more effort.
