Drive

Enlightened beings are completely dedicated to their own evolution,
and to the evolution of others. Part of being in the work is that others
are food for one's own growth. People drop out on the way, this is part
of it. They often will turn against the work, and against the teacher.

Often the teacher will take steps to actually stimulate their student's
anger towards them by being excessively demanding in time and money,
or behaving in a controversial way. A real teacher has his student's best
interests in mind. They may also fall into the trap of being a guru, and this
in itself is one of the reasons why the master-disciple relationship attracts
so much scrutiny and notoriety.
