Mr. Gurdjieff said that something important in the moment
must be sacrificed. Something must be let go of, something
important to the machine. In the great bible, Jesus said
"Get thee behind me Satan". This means that he was offered
power over the world, but put that part of himself secondary
to his consciousness, his presence.
