Mr. Gurdjieff is a symbol of the work, but not the being we see in the photos and images.
This is just a reflection of the light he had inside him.
Margaret Anderson gives a hint of this in her book, "The Unknowable Gurdjieff", at some
point he allowed her to glimpse his higher energies, (which conscious beings learn how
to hide to protect themselves), she gazed into this world for a few short moments.
Mr. Gurdjieff said: "God helps me". There is also another comment, when towards
the end of his life, a pupil, possibly Elizabeth Bennett, perceived that the force he was
using was wearing him out. It is once again an indication of the esoteric economy.
